LSA Dance Show

I can now confirm that our postponed show, DANCE 365, will take place next year on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th May 2023 at The Wilde Theatre in Bracknell. This promises to be another exciting experience for all concerned so please do save the date!

Exam Results

Congratulations to all the pupils who took part in the recent ballet, modern, tap and Acro examinations. The girls achieved excellent results which rightly reflect the hard work they put in towards the preparation of these. It was not an easy time for the children with the COVID related hurdles they were up against so we are incredibly proud of them all. A summary of the results are as follows:

Ballet (13th-17th December 2021)

24 x Distinction

21 x Merit

Modern & Tap (30th January (2022)

9 x Distinction

14 x Merit

Acrobatic Arts (27th March 2022)

12 x Distinction

8 x Excellent

2 x Highly Commended

Well done everyone!

Ballet Examinations – Autumn Term 2021

Royal Academy of Dance ballet examinations were held at the end of the Autumn Term from Monday 13th to Friday 17th December and involved all the grades from Primary to Grade 6 , and Intermediate Foundation.  These were again conducted as ‘filmed’ examinations and the footage from this session will be submitted to the RAD for marking on the 11th January.

I would like to congratulate all the students for their confident and beautiful performances and for embracing this new way of progressing through the examination system.  I am very much looking forward to working with the pupils on their next grade from January.

Weekly Classes

Like all dance schools, we have been affected by the restrictions imposed by COVID-19, having to close down for much of the Spring Term and all of the Summer Term.  However, when restrictions were lifted, we ran three weeks of classes in July/August for the many who were keen to resume.

We have striven to accept the challenge and accommodate all the necessary measures that are deemed beneficial to the well-being of our students.  Both Miss Lynn and Miss Georgie trained in, and subsequently received certificates, in the “Prevent COVID-19″ on-line training course.

With regard to the day-to-day running of classes, there is a dedicated area for changing footwear, a one-way system for arrival and departure, automatic hand sanitisers to approved standard by both the entrance and exit, and social distancing grids are used within the hall.  Sanitising of the floor takes place between each class.

The wearing of masks will be compliant with government guidelines at any given time.

We hope our students can feel assured that we have their well-being as a priority and hope this will enable them to continue to enjoy the discipline of dance which so many have come to cherish.

Summer Holiday Classes

It was clear from feedback that many students were keen to resume classes when the easing of restrictions allowed. With this in mind, and with the appropriate safety measures in place, we ran three weeks of classes on an adjusted timetable during the summer holidays.

They were very well received and we were complemented on the precautionary measures we had put in place.  The students enjoyed getting back to some sort of normality albeit with a number of classes requiring the use of face masks.  It was gratifying to see their love of dance had not diminished over the intervening months.

DANCE 365

Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, our show that was planned to take place on 23d/24th May 2020 at The Wilde Theatre in Bracknell had to be postponed.

We have every intention of continuing where we left off and providing both students and audience with another spectacular show to remember.

Dances have been choreographed, costumes purchased and the infrastructure was being put in place.  We eagerly await the opportunity to resume preparations and put on the show in a relaxed and safe environment whenever that may be deemed appropriate.
